Kent’s Bikesafe initiative is part of a nationwide plan of action to reduce the number of motorcycle accident casualties by promoting safer riding.

The workshops are based around a national syllabus aimed at promoting rider skills training hence the strap line “Bridging the gap”.

During the One day workshop Motorcyclists are exposed to issues affecting riders today. These include accident causation and a taste of what can be achieved via the bikesafe education package.

We cannot train you to be an advanced rider with a one day rider workshop but we can hopefully show you the benefits further training.

Bikesafe aims to provide a conduit through which motorcyclists will go on to further training and in turn become better riders, therefore it is not really aimed at advanced riders who already have a positive attitude to training and Kent Police would ask that qualified advanced riders leave space on our courses for the benefit of others.

Our Day will start with a briefing followed by several hours out on the road.

Kent Police BikeSafe

The road sessions will involve assessment of riding styles and feedback/discussion of any issues raised if appropriate.

Lunch will be included during the on-road session at a well-known Biker friendly venue (Wesson’s Café) where you will get chance to chat to the other riders from the workshop about your experiences.

Hopefully, like us, you are looking forward to the new Motorcycle season and I’m sure you are already planning some rides for 2010.

It would be great to start the year off in a good direction. (pun intended)
