What is BikeSafe?

BikeSafe is an initiative run by police forces around the UK who work with the whole of the biking world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties, by holding assessment rides and rider skills workshops throughout the year.

Rider Skills Workshops

The two day workshops are run from The Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, which is situated on the B4100 between Warwick and Banbury. Directions via their web site, (www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk)
They start at 8.45am until approx 4pm on both days.
The cost is £95.00 for two days including lunch.
Workshops include input from Police Officers and Assessed Ride Outs.

Two Days Out Riding With An Officer Taught Me A Lesson

Having recently completed a Bikesafe course with Warwickshire Police, I would like to let you all know how impressed I was with the officers involved.

Even though I've been a biker for 35 years, this course still taught me a lot - it was time and money well spent.

Spread over two days, a morning introduction was followed by videos of bike safety, basic first aid, then a question and answer session. Breaks with good food were also provided on both days.

We must have had at least 300 miles out on the roads too. That was quite an experience.

I hope the funding will be made available so that these courses can continue in the future.
