BikeSafe North Wales Rider
Workshop Contents and Schedule
As previously stipulated the workshops are designed to enhance the skills
of all riders who have already passed their tests. To Bridge the Gap
and insight interest in further training. Those that are returning to
biking or just past their Direct Access are considered most suitable
to attend.
The workshops will be very much practical and hands on.'In addition
to an interactive presentation regarding road management skills there
will be ample opportunity to take part in observed rides giving assessment
and demonstration. All on good biking roads.
Rider Skills workshops will be two-days duration (Unless alternative arrangements are requested)
and will operate from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on
the Sunday. The cost is £100 each rider. Although light refreshments
are provided meals are not. Time will be given for attendants to eat
food they bring or visit a suitable cafe.
Workshops can accommodate up to 20 people. Pillions are welcome at an
extra £10 per day.
It is not essential but would be helpful if you have viewed a copy of
the book 'Motorcycling Roadcraft'. This should be available from a library,
High Street bookshop or securely on line from motorcycle-uk.com
It is anticipated that you will cover approximately 70 miles on any day at a one to two maximum ratio. Please therefore ensure you have sufficient fuel prior to arriving at a workshop.
You will need to produce a valid driving licence, insurance and MOT (if applicable). It is also advised that riders have suitable clothing for the conditions and a road worthy bike. As the theory sessions are over a three hour period alternative clothing should be considered for your comfort.
