Welcome to our Bikesafe Webpage.

South Wales Police are coordinating BIKESAFE CYMRU in association with the Road Safety Wales with the objective of reducing motorcycle accidents on the roads of South Wales and further afield.

To help achieve this objective, a series of two day rider skill workshops.

Workshop Dates 2010

There will be two workshops in Cardiff, which will be held between 9 am and 5 pm. on the following weekends: 22/23 May and 17/18 July. They will be based at the Road Safety, Crown Way, Maindy, Cardiff.  (BOTH courses now full).

Two workshops will be held in Swansea on 26/27 June,
August 21/22 (FULL) and September 4/5.  They are based at Morriston Fire Station, Sway Road,  Morriston.

Three workshops will also be held in the Vale of Glamorgan, at the Barry Fire Station, Port Road on July 24/25th (FULL), August 28/29th (FULL) and September 18/19.

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have arranged a series of heavily subsidised BikeSafe workshops.  Costing £20 for Riders who live or work in Neath Port Talbot, the dates are:
29/30 May, 19/20 June, 10/11 July (Female only), 14/15 August, 11/12 September.

Please be advised that there are only a limited number of places available.

The workshops, run by Police, ex Police and RoSPA Gold riders, are a mix of theory and practical and will include on-road assessment rides, information videos, motorcycle related first aid and other relevant issues. The workshops are designed to enhance the skills of all riders who have already passed their tests, and are particularly suitable for those that may be returning to biking after a period of absence and sports bike riders.

The cost will be £100 per rider. If you live in Cardiff or live/work in Swansea or the Vale of Glamorgan (details of employer must be provided  and attend a workshop in that authority, the cost is £20 (heavily subsidised by your local authority). Please enclose a cheque made out to the ‘Road Safety Wales ’.  The cheque will not be cashed until you have been allocated a place on one of the workshops – it will then become non-refundable. Please note that that if you intend to bring a pillion passenger there will be an additional charge of £10 per day.
