2012 Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Competition is only open to UK residents who book a BikeSafe workshop, either online at www.bikesafe.co.uk or over the telephone using the National Booking Service (which is operated by the promoter, Motor Cycle Industry Association (“MCI”) and subsequently attend that workshop on or before 31st December 2012.
  2. Persons who book onto a BikeSafe workshop but do not subsequently attend before 31st December 2012 will not be eligible to enter this competition. 
  3. Only one entry is permitted per person.
  4. Entries must be submitted using the online BikeSafe Evaluation Form.  Participants shall only be invited to complete evaluation forms and take part in the competition once MCI has received confirmation of their attendance at the BikeSafe workshop in question from event organiser.  MCI accepts no responsibility if any participant is unable to take part in the competition as a result of an event organiser failing to provide such confirmation.
  5. MCI accepts no responsibility for entries lost in transit.
  6. All entries must be received by MCI no later than 5th January 2013.
  7. Prizes include either one motorcycle to the value of RRP £12,000 or one Scooter to the value of RRP £2,000, together with 6 helmets to the value of RRP £500 each and 3 sets of protective clothing to the value of RRP £1,000 each. Prizes must be products of MCI member companies. AS list of member companies is available at http://www.mcia.co.uk/About/Members-Directory.aspx. All maximum values are inclusive of VAT. The prizes are subject to availability and MCI reserves the right to substitute alternative prizes of similar value. 
  8. No cash alternatives will be offered.
  9. Entrants must be at least 16 years old, must hold a full motorcycle licence or a provisional licence and valid Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) certificate.
  10. Employees of MCI, their immediate families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion are not eligible to enter.
  11. Bulk entries or entries from third parties will not be accepted.
  12. The judging panel comprises members of MCI and National BikeSafe and at least one judge is independent of MCI and National BikeSafe. The names of the judges will be made available on request.
  13. All entrants who correctly answer the multiple-choice question will be placed in a draw. The judges will draw out one entry for each of the prizes on offer. Those prizes will then be allocated to the drawn winners on the basis of the most apt and original answer (determined in the sole opinion of the judges) to the tiebreaker question being allocated the highest value prize, the next most apt and original answer being allocated the next highest value prize, and so on until all prizes have been allocated to the drawn winners. 
  14. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to entries.
  15. MCI will own all copyright or similar rights subsisting in entries received, whether or not an entry has been selected as a winner. Participants accordingly waive all such rights by submitting their entry.
  16. Winners will be notified in writing via email or post by 31st January 2013.
  17. Winners will be able to claim their prizes from MCI, who will source prizes on behalf of the winners.
  18. Names of winners, the county in which they live and their winning entries will be published at www.bikesafe.co.uk shortly after 31st January 2013. 
  19. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, winners agree to take part in post-competition publicity.
