How long have you been riding?

I have been riding on the road since 1978 on FS1E`s and passed my test on an RD250 in 1979. I have owned and ridden bikes continuously since then.

What bike do you ride?

At the moment I ride a 2008 Pan European ST1300.

What is your dream bike?

I know we would all have several if money and space were no object, but if I had to choose one maybe an RC30, RC45 or similar collectable for summer runs. I'd still need another one for everyday use though!

What do you like about riding a bike?

Not everyone can do it; you don't get the same sensations or sense of achievement when you arrive by car. I will go for a ride with no particular destination - I won't go out for a drive!

What has been your best motorcycling moment?

Touring is my main passion, I first went to the South of France in 1981 on a Suzuki GS1000S and have so many fantastic memories over thousands of miles since there isn't room here for a list here, but near the top of my best biking moments would be a pillion ride I did with Rocket Ron at Donnington Park.

What is your favourite road/route?

The M20! Although any other route to the shuttle terminal would be a favourite of mine! In Europe my list is endless this is just a few of my top roads - the 500 in Germany this is about 100 miles long from Baden Baden south to the Swiss border, the N85 Route Napoleon in France from Grenoble to the Med, the Ardeche Valley in southern France or the N106 through Florac a bit further south. The A8 motorway to Italy around the coast from Monaco is all tunnels, bridges and views or any route through the Pyrenees or Alps.

What is the best piece of motorcycling advice you have been given?

You will never have too much experience.
