Rider
Workshop Contents and Schedule
The workshops are designed to enhance the
skills of all riders who have already passed their tests, and are particularly
suitable for those that may be returning to biking after a period of absence.
Each workshop will be of two days duration, and will operate on Saturdays
and Sundays from 9.00am to 5.00pm. There will be space for 16 people on
each workshop, being held at the Road Safety Resource Centre, Edlogan
Way, Cwmbran.
The workshops will be very much practical and hands on, and there will
be ample opportunity to take part in lengthy observed rides on good biking
roads.
Saturday
09.00 - 09.45 Administration and Introduction
09.45 - 12.00 The theory of Roadcraft12.00
- 12.30 Mechanical
safety input
12.30 13.30 Lunch (Hot meal provided)
13.30 - 16.30 Assessment Rides with Police Advanced Riders, during which
time you will cover about 100 miles
16.30 - 17.00 Course De-Brief. Any Questions & Closure
Sunday
09.00 - 09.30 Re-cap and pre-ride briefing
09.30 13.00 Road Rides, during which time you will cover 100 miles
plus
13.00 14.00 Lunch (Hot meal provided)
14.00 - 15.30 Motorcycle related First Aid by qualified Ambulance Paramedic
trainer15.30 - 16.00 Crime Prevention

16.00 - 17.00 Full Course De-brief, Presentations and Closure
