MURRAY WALKER OPENS THE EVENT.

Those of you who attended the weekend and listened to Murray's enjoyable interviews with Steve Berry would agree that his presence made the road safety weekend that much more special.

It's really great that Murray supports BikeSafe as he does, earlier working with Hampshire Police on their poster campaign and now with the national initiative. Listening to him drawing on his wealth of knowledge, experience, and phenomenal memory, as he answered Steve's questions right from the heart was just fascinating. Everyone was so pleased to be able to be there to listen to this man who's true roots came from within the motorcycle world.

Murray Walker to open the event'The sheer force and sincerity of his enthusiasm has long made him the most imitated as well as the most loved broadcaster in British life' -
Daily Telegraph

Murray is undoubtedly one of the best-loved characters in the sporting world.

Murray Walker was born into the world of motor racing. His father Graham was a motorcycle TT champion and Walker Jnr saw his first race when he was two. After active service in World War II, he forged a successful career as an advertising executive, handling the accounts of blue-chip firms such as Mars, Esso and the Co-op. His debut as a sports commentator came in 1949, when he covered the British GP at Silverstone for BBC Radio. He has since spent more than 50 years commentating on motor racing and in particular F1, initially for the BBC before moving over to ITV in 1997.

Leon Haslam rider for Team Renegade Ducatii gave some fascinating answers to Men and Motors Steve Berry's questions in interviews over the weekend. He gave visitors to the event an interesting insight into his own world of superbike racing.

Police motorcyclists from many forces around the country worked with riders over the weekend running accompanied Ride Outs both on the riders own machines and also demos from Honda, Yamaha and Ducati.

There were over 475 ride outs completed over the weekend with 150 kids put through their paces on scooters. The weekend was undoubtably a great success.
