Workshop Content

The cost to take part in a 1 day workshop is just £35 (non-refundable) per person. If you would like to bring a pillion there is no charge. The workshops are limited to 14 riders per session, and our workshops are open to all riders of machines from 125cc & up with a full/restricted power motorcycle licence.

The format of the workshop is a classroom session in the morning delivered by one of our professional police trained facilitators. There is a short break for lunch followed by an afternoon ride out with either a Police Motorcyclist. We aim to finish by 1700 at the latest.

The day will begin at 0945 when you will be met by the course facilitators, and there will be a chance to have a free tea or coffee. The classroom session will commence at 1000 where with the of an interactive DVD we will discuss advanced riding skills and techniques based on the police manual of riding (Roadcraft), motorcycle control and some of the common causes of crashes. You are positively encouraged to take part in this session, and share your experiences and knowledge which will benefit the group.

The morning session will finish around 1230 (there will be comfort breaks), and at 1300 the ride outs will commence.

During the ride out your observer will give you advice on how to improve your skills. The ride outs usually last for up to 3 hours including breaks for debriefs. The format of the ride out is usually 2 to 1 (2 course members and one Police rider), and will follow a loose format of demonstration rides and assessments. During the ride out you will be given advice and feedback on improving your skills, and how specific areas of your riding could be improved, ie. road position or observations.

The day concludes with a full debrief from your observer.

If for an unforeseen reason the workshop day has to be cancelled by us you will be given as much notice as possible and either an alternative date will be offered to you or a full refund given.

On the day, please bring your UK driving licence (if photo licence then both parts), valid MOT certificate (if required) and insurance certificate.

Please wear appropriate motorcycle clothing, including glasses/spectacles/contact lenses if you need them for riding.

Riders’ machines must be in a roadworthy condition (check your tyres and number plates!). No refund will be given should the rider’s machine be deemed un-roadworthy.

Breakdown recovery is the riders’ responsibility. No refund will be given should the riders machine breakdown.
