WORKSHOP INFORMATION

The cost to take part in a 1 day workshop is just £25 per person. If you would like to bring a pillion there is no charge. The workshops are limited to 10 riders per session. Our workshops are open to all types of rider with a full/restricted power bike licence.

The doors open at 8.15am for free tea/coffee and biscuits, the classroom element starts at 8.30am prompt and the day finishes around 3.30pm. We ride in almost any weather except thick fog, ice or snow. Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel and either bring your own packed lunch or funds to buy your own food later in the day.

The workshop then starts with a relaxed classroom session, delivered by one of our professional police trained facilitators. You are positively encouraged to take part and share your experiences and knowledge. With the help of an interactive DVD we will discuss advanced riding skills and techniques based on the police manual of riding (Roadcraft), motorcycle control and some of the common causes of crashes. We will also cover the basic first aid techniques you need if you ever have the misfortune of being the first on the scene of a motorcycle crash. There will be a short break between sessions for more tea/coffee and comfort breaks.

This is then followed by a ride out with either a Bike Cop or an observer from the IAM/ROSPA or the Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS). During the ride out your observer will give you advice on how to improve your skills. The ride outs usually last for up to 3 hours, this includes breaks for debriefs and a grub break. The lunch break is usually at a local bike cafe or you may wish to bring your own packed lunch.

The day concludes with a full debrief from your observer. You will be given a certificate of attendance and a goody bag of biking related items.

If for an unforeseen reason the workshop day has to be cancelled by us you will be given as much notice as possible and either an alternative date will be offered to you or a full refund given.

BikeSafe workshop days are held in Beverley, an easy to reach location in the East Riding of Yorkshire and only 10 miles from the Humber Bridge, that has access to some great biking roads.
