Did you know that a significant amount of bike crashes are the result or partly to blame for maintenance issues?  Tyres especially are sighted as a reason.  This is statistically qualified over a 10yr period.  Also evidenced by qualified experience of BikeSafe and local engineers.  So not wishing to miss a trick how about attending a Free simple maintenance session to include a health check of your bike?  North Wales BikeSafe and partners are presently initiating the 2hr course and would be interested to know if this is something you would consider?  We can place you on the waiting list. Llangollen International Motorcycle Festival 2015

Saturday, August 1st & Sunday, August 2nd

Royal International Pavilion, Llangollen, North Wales LL20 8SW

New motorcycle festival in North Wales ‘bike heaven’

Looking forward to some great riding this summer? Add LlanBikeFest 15 ( to your diary for Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd 2015.

The Llangollen International Motorcycle Festival will be at the town’s Pavilion, home to the globally renowned International Musical Eisteddfod events. It’s set amid some of Britain’s best biking roads – at the foot of the Horseshoe Pass and its famously bike-friendly Ponderosa Café, and on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.

The site has previously hosted successful bike shows – the last in 2011 – but LlanBikeFest 15 is being organised by a new team of local motorcycle enthusiasts, led by Harry Edwards.

Harry said: “The Pavilion is a fantastic site in a location that is heaven for bikers of every type – on and off road. Riding to the festival and around the area will be a key part of the experience.

“LlanBikeFest 15  will be a family-friendly festival, celebrating every aspect of motorcycling. We plan to make it an annual event and attract visitors from far and wide.”

On-site attractions will include displays, stunts, demonstrations, trade and club stands, plus beer, bands and evening entertainment. There will also be ride-outs from the site to explore some of the area’s most beautiful roads and scenery.

Harry added: “The Llangollen area has excellent campsites and accommodation but we are urging people to book early, as we are expecting a lot of interest.”

Throughout the summer of this year we have been conducting a local survey to see what the bikers say about certain aspects of riding. It has helped us to identify with the issues concerning them and the best way to reach them. The Survey was developed between Sian Gilford our Senior Analyst and myself with our BikeSafe Volunteers helping to engage with bikers to fill in the forms. Colin Jones of Gwynedd County Council headed an A494 Hot Route project which the survey was part of and fell within the budget.

A prize draw was offered to those completing the form and a draw took place on the 17.11.14 when three lucky winners were identified.

They have been sent notice and arrangements are in hand to deliver / collect the respective prizes to the value of approximately 1st £120. 2nd £80 and 3rd £50.  We would like to extend our thanks to NGK Spark Plugs UK, Colwyn Bay Motorcycles and Woods Motorcycles Abergele for their contribution.
